My washer will only agitate on heavy cycle
Please someone help! My older washing machine will only agitate on the
heavy cycle. When l try normal or perm. press it fills, spins and drains
but does not agitate. The heavy cycle is killing my clothes! l have no
mechanical knowledge and no money to call a repair man or buy new.l am
willing to try if someone thinks it is an easy fix. Thanks.
I never seem to have good when someone can not afford to do
what I am suggesting. There is no repair that you can do to ur problem
that won't require a repairman. For how much the problem may seem to be
mechanical, it is actually electrical. As simple as I can put it, the
electronic mechanism that tells the machine to agitate during norm & perm
press is not functioning properly. The first respondant said a timer,
which is not correct. Unless you have a friend that knows how to fix washing machines, this will not get fixed for little or no money. Probably about $120.00 for parts & labor.
You have a bad timer. Its an easy fix for somebody that is
handy, but may not be too cheap. Still cheaper than calling a
repairperson.
