Are there any do-it yourselfers out there that have successfully machine cleaned their heavy duty fabric

If it matters it is from the Lazy Boy ''Home'' collection and it just needs

to last about another 6 mths but so needs to be cleaned.

I've washed sofa cushions & draperies in my machine. I also

This does work, but I've found that it REALLY shortens the life of many of
the fabrics used on sofas & chairs - particularly if it is a polyester
weave. Cotton or poly/cotton fabrics fare much better. Since you don't
need this to last too long you should be fine. If you do notice there are
wear spots in the fabric, try using the iron on patches on the inside of
the fabric to strengthen it. After the fabric is dry, spray with Scotch
Guard to help repel stains.

Good luck!
